The prepackaged music/video montage was an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING mix of historic iconic visuals of patriotism through the ages of America; from George wasington to George "W." By no small coincidence, it begins with less than subliminal reference to our "Christian Roots as a Nation" with the biblical opener, "In the beginning..." The iconic visuals unfold between the interspersed slow reveals of the written message: "King George underestimated.../Many have underestimated... /Hitler underestimated.../Saddam underestimated.../Terrorists underestimated.../The WILL of the American people.../Congress: Do not underestimate the WILL of the American people." ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! - but ABSOLUTE PROPAGANDA!!! Almost immediately, as it unfolded, it struck me like a "bolt from the blue": Leni Riefenstahl's "Triumph of the Will." The "ironic coincidence"(?) of the "WILL of the American people" tagline was a jaw dropping affirmation of my initial impression. All politics aside, with the ranting from both sides of the political spectrum; from Beck to Olbermann, the near-psychotic delusional fomentations of "the messengers" CAN often distract from, if not dilute the credibility of the message itself. Left to his own devices, Beck is scary enough; but now that he has found HIS brilliant Riefenstahl, the potential for mass acceptance of the manipulative patriotic message, without awareness or regard for any underlieing political agenda, Beck has become exponentially dangerous.
