    Jay!

Hey there my man! Great looking web site. Good work and terrific content. Now, what the hell is going on with local Tee Vee news these days? I have been out of town since just after the elections, early November, and I am now calling Melbourne, Australia home. Great city and, living with the love of my life. Carole Shaw. Doing some writing for a few mags and, yep, even doing some radio from over here.

Heard about the shake-ups and, shake outs, over at the traditional network stations in the city. Same kind of thing taking place on the radio side, too. That’s true even with NPR, indie and ethnic radio networks and, the Pacifica Stations. I should know, having worked for a number of them up until November.

Glad that we’re buddies on Face Book.

Will parachute into NYC for three weeks after the 26th of February. Carole is attending the C-S-W over at the UN during that time and, I am going to catch up with a few friends and family. Lets hook up!

    All the best!

    Eric in Melbourne

Hi Jay – So glad to be able to still hear from you. Your style of reporting is something that others in this business should aspire to, and we are lucky to be able to read your writing and learn! Did you ever think of teaching? I’d take your class!

Sorry you got laid of but you know what they say about good guys.
I hope you get picked up but this site is a good place for you to tell it like it is.
My gripe is ‘political interference in places it shouldn’t be’. Not only did we lose our jobs and our investments….we also lost our trans fat! Forget about Big Brother, we now have Big Mother! The no- smoking laws are good but why don’t they campaign to take cigarettes off the shelves? Gee, I wonder why…. could it be the tax revenue?
They are really scaring me by trying to raise taxes on non diet soda and I sure miss my Kentucky Fried Chicken WITH trans fat. I’m not even overweight! So MOM please leave us alone.

Dear Jay, I was so sorry to hear of your termination but true talent like yours will not stay silent. There is an old saying, for every door that closes a new one opens. Once news of your availability spreads you will back in the publics eye where you belong. For now stay strong, don’t look back. Thank you for the great Website.

    Jay,

I know Tod – he use to be my neighbor here in Williamsburg years ago – and we met once very briefly at a party at his place there. I’ve been seeing him share your posts on Facebook, and I ended up here through him. I didn’t realize that WNBC did lay offs earlier this year. I’ve moved away from television to internet news, mainly, over the past year, so I’ve not seen WNBC since, well, really the election in November. Your coverage of the election was spectacular, by the way.

I moved to NYC in 1993, and I instantly began following you. Your intelligence and shoot from the hip reporting always engaged me and made me feel comfortable. I did some searches to see what happened at WNBC and get the low down, for it’s unfathomable to me that they should release a journalist of your caliber. I am very excited and happy to find your blog, and your take on the Delonas cartoon is spot on. Glad to see you’re still doing your do.

Thanks for creating this site, and continued success bringing hard hitting, no-nonsense journalism to the blogosphere. This is the future of news and media, anyway, but it will only survive as long as the real journalists infuse it with integrity. Keep up the fantastic work, and I look forward to following you for years to come.

    Kind Regards,
    JD Carter
