The news just never quite finds a way to cut through the crap and tell readers and viewers what they want — an identifiable truth. That’s where Get Real comes in.

Run by long-time television journalist Jay DeDapper, Get Real digs into the assumptions that course through the daily coverage and exposes the ones that are based on inaccuracies, misinterpretations, and lies. In sections like Are You Serious? and Skeptical Eye we highlight and expose the things people say to reporters and TV anchors that are not factual.

Proof Positive turns the conventional wisdom upside down using respected reports and data to demonstrate what’s correct and what’s just another canard. Media Watch is what you’d expect: Calling the Fourth Estate on the carpet for repeating myths and lies instead of checking the facts. Ever heard of Google editors? Finally Mea Cupla rewards the rare public person who admits he or she screwed up. We love them!

Get Real is based in New York so we’ll split our focus between national and New York news looking at politics, government, business, and other big stories.
